1. How do I install WebHare Lite?

2. Can I demo WebHare A.P.?

Yes, you can. WebHare A.P. offers more advanced options than WebHare Lite. If you think that WebHare AP is more suitable for you, you can try our "online demo" (http://www.b-lex.com/products/webhare_ap/request.shtml) for free. Here you can change the structure and content of your demo website with the same ease as in WebHare Lite. You only need a web browser for the demo.

Visit WebHare A.P. on this website to learn more about WebHare AP.

3. Which product is right for me if I’m maintaining a large website?

The product line of WebHare AP consists of WebHare AP and WebHare Lite. Both products use the powerful "Word-to-HTML" conversion and are extraordinarily user-friendly. WebHare Lite is especially suitable for starting and maintaining small websites. When you need to maintain a large website, switching to WebHare AP is recommended.

WebHare AP offers advanced possibilities such as surveys, forums, web shops and a search engine. And WebHare AP is fully "web-based", which means that several people can maintain the website simultaneously using only a web browser.

4. Does B-Lex IT host websites?

It is not possible for B-Lex Information Technologies to publish your website on the Internet. B-Lex IT is a software development company that does not host websites. If you're looking for a company to host your website, you can contact our partner, Keen on Dots (http://www.keenondots.com).

5. How do I create my own design?

To create your own design in WebHare Lite you need knowledge of HTML and HareScript®. First, turn on the option "Show development options" in the Preferences menu. The developer folders are now shown and the options "Edit template" and "Edit profile" are now available in the "Site" menu.

If you want to create your own design we recommend that you begina new site with one of the example designs. There you can see how the template, profile and HareScript library files make up the current design of the site. This should give you some pointers on how you can best create your own design in WebHare Lite.

6. What is the purpose of website categories?

When you start a new site with the "New Site Wizard" you can choose one of the website categories: Personal, Company or Sports club. Your new website is then filled with sample content.

The sample content consists of a folder structure, Word documents, photo galleries and sitemaps. This content will determine the look of your site and can give you ideas for possible layouts. You can easily adapt the content of a site in WebHare Lite

There is also the option to not choose a category for your site. This results in starting with a blank site.

7. Why is it necessary to assign titles to folders and files?

WebHare Lite uses the titles of folders and files to create the navigation (internal links and sitemaps) in your site. Using these titles enables you to use characters for folder- and filenames which are normally considered illegal, such as: '?', '*', etc.

8. Can I use other file types in WebHare Lite?

It is possible to use other file types than Microsoft® Word documents in your site. However, these files will not be converted to HTML files. Microsoft Powerpoint files for example can be downloaded or opened by visitors that have Powerpoint installed.

PDF files can, depending on the settings of your browser, be opened in the browser itself but they will not be shown in the design of the site itself.

9. Will more designs be added?

Yes! The current version of WebHare Lite contains five different site-designs in three-color variants. The next release of WebHare Lite will have many more site-designs which will also be made available on this site.

10. Is there a WebHare Lite manual?

Currently there is no downloadable version of the WebHare Lite manual. WebHare Lite comes with a very extensive Help file, which you can open from the Help menu of the program.
